This oil painting started with a photo in a parking lot, a bright glowing moon on a sunny day at 11 am. I thought how nocturnal of her! The moon I mean, since she's most notably seen at night. Anyhow, I painted the golden leaves of the fall foliage, the power lines, the rebellious Moon and almost called it a day. I later wanted to experiment; could I create an illusion of a stone like box recessed into the middle of the canvas? And here is the result, a trompe l'oeil fall scene, mixing dimensions and visual planes.
