Like many others, after hearing of Dolly's passing, I truly was heart broken. She was hope personified. No matter the ugliness and hate in the world, she shined her light of love and hope without fear. I found this polaroid of her, a truly candid moment of riding in a car in the late 60's. The colors, the way the image had faded into blues and cyan tones, and those fabulous butterfly glasses. I knew I had to paint it!

I hope this portrait of Dolly Parton will remind us all to shine our light without fear, and to know that leading with love is always the answer. Wear that bright top, add the glitter, and let's hold on to hope just like Dolly would do!
